National Infant and Child Health Program of the Republic of Hungary
INTRODUCTION
According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), children are our investment in tomorrow's society. Their health and the way we treat them in their adolescence until adulthood will have a significant impact on the welfare and stability of our country in the next decade, too. In keeping with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child we define as child every human being below the age of eighteen years. The general term children?s health fully includes infants, pre-school children, older children and adolescents. These groups also comprise subgroups that differ in stages of development, risks to and determinants of health, and needs for services and public health measures.
